Our Team
Educators at Amana are passionate, caring, and highly qualified. Smaller class sizes and a low child-to-adult ratio (8:1) allow our educators to connect with children and grow meaningful relationships. We observe and listen to children to learn their interests, needs and strengths, permitting the planning of thoughtful opportunities for your child. At Amana, we are committed to developing our knowledge through ongoing professional development to serve our families and children with the highest quality care.
"A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning." Brad Henry

Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you)
I was born & raised on Treaty 7 land (Calgary) by parents from Lebanon. My inspiration for establishing Amana Early Learning Centre stems from the diverse experiences I've gained over the years. These roles have shaped my passion for early childhood education, from contributing to the Islamic Art Program for preschoolers with the Good Doers Charity Library Society in 2005 to volunteering at the Calgary Islamic School, where my four children attended. Completing an Early Learning and Childhood Care Diploma, an Educational Assistant Certificate, and engaging in ongoing professional development enable me to provide developmentally appropriate practices that support each child's unique strengths, needs, and interests.
As a passionate and committed educator, I see myself as your child's learning partner. I enjoy creating a warm, safe, and inviting environment that motivates learning, nurtures growth, and connects with Islamic values. My goal is to help children reach their full potential while fostering a strong connection with their Creator and a love of learning.
Building meaningful relationships with families, children, and the community is a central aspect of my work. I look forward to new beginnings filled with growth, joy, and peace.

Testimonial
"My son attended Al-Salam Preschool and Ms. Amal is a brilliant teacher. My son loved it so much he wanted to come back the next year. I absolute lover her teaching methods and techniques. She incorporates every aspect of learning well and allows the children to explore freely and learn new things about themselves. Amal is always full of energy and greets you with a smile. I would highly recommend her!" Reem
